About Me

Want to know a little about me? You've come to the right spot...

Unique, crazy, and bizarre...pretty much the three words that descripts me.  I like to do many things and I'm always up for something new.  Most of the time, I always go for the extra mile, and even beyond!  I'm very active in sports during the Fall, Winter, and Spring seasons.  I'm kinda passive during the Summer.  I run Cross Country and Track and Field.  I'm also the greatest mascot ever born for our school. I also keep good standings at school.  I'm very active in many things and will do my best at it.

SPORTS

Sports is one of my most favorite passtimes!  Not only do I get to hang with some friends, but I learn to try many new activities.  Although I don't consider myself an expert in some of the sports, I feel that I do well in them.  I do well in most sports that require quickness on the feet or long endurance.  Some of them would be Badmitton or Volleyball. Like I said before, although not an expert, I'm pretty...ok.

My main sports I do is running and mascotting:

Running - Of all the sports, Track is my favorite.  As of now, I am the fastest sprinter at our High School.  I have always love Track, but I never did like running until 9th grade when I joined the Cross Country Running team.  I got better and faster. I learned a lot of techniques that I would have never thought of. Here are a few techniques about sprinting that may help:

-Sprinting is not running. Different muscles and techniques are required.
-Sprint on your toes. Never use your heel.
-Swing your arms back and foward. Never side to side as it will throw your momentum offward.
-Bring up your knees and spring off your toes. Don't do a rocking motion on your feet.
-Don't lean backward. This can cause back problems and a slower time.
-Don't look down at your feet. Always look ahead of you.
-Never look back!

These are personal advice. I'm not too sure if any of them are correct but they have worked for me.  I'm not the fastest runner at the school (as in the 800m, mile, and 5k).  I am fast, but not the fastest.  Take a look at my times at the top of the page. See if you can match them :D

Mascotting - I am *thee* mascot of Valdez High School and do I kick butt!!!  Although mascotting is only a recent discovered talent of mine, I have improved much. My very first (sophomore) year,  I was just trying it out.  I got better and stuck to it.  I learned my place and what my restrictions were. I was awarded "Best Buccaneer" at the end of the season.  My Junior year, I began to go take a step further into mascotting.  I did skits and entertained the crowd. I did stuff I wouldn't have done the year before. While I was at the State Basketball Tournaments, I was award a Varsity Necklace for my outstanding performance during the game. New comes my Senior year and I am getting very excited.  I want to go full blast with everything. I plan to be the best mascot ever!

Here are some ideas I do while I mascot:

-During halftime, go play the opposite's mascot in a game of friendly basketball (keyword: Friendly).
-During halftime, attempted to make a Free Point shot. If successful, attempted a Three Point shot. If successful, entertain the crowd with a Half Court shot (It is possible! I've done it twice during a three minute time allowance).
-During halftime, shot a Free Point shot backwards between the legs.  Make as many as you can.  When your time on the court is almost done, try one more shot but miss...not the basket, the legs. Be sure you don't hurt yourself. (Crowd Lover! Mostly for the kids!)
-When the Pep Band plays, be sure to dance with what they are playing!
-When doing a sideline cheer, hang out with the most spirit section and over exaggerate the cheerleader's cheers.
-ONLY fight the opposite mascot if it is planned...and OKed.

Thats about it for the sports. Be sure to go the the My Sports for an update about the current sport I'm in!

SCHOOL

To tell the truth, I like school.  I like to learn and be around my friends.  Summer Break and Christmas Break is always depressing because I don't see all of my friends everyday. I only see the few who aren't on trips and/or are available and not working.

As I said before, I love to do sports but in order for me to do them, I need to keep a good grade in school.  Most of the time, I keep good grades like a lot of "A"s and many "B"s, but I might get the few "C"s once in a while. I rarely get a "D" and/or "F".  Overall, I am a pretty bright boy.  The problem is that I am lazy and tend not to do the homework.  I am a very hands-on person...not a book learner.

I'm a Senior in 12th grade and a proud member of the Class of 2006. I moved here in 2nd grade so my graduation will be a 10 year celebration in Valdez! The good thing about that is a few of my friends will finally get the Platium Friendship Badge.

Actually, thats kinda about it.  To learn more about whats going on currently at Valdez High School, got to or go to the School Website.
